Arran Coastal Way

17/05/2023 to 24/05/2023

56 miles and 4,636 feet of ascent

Arran is Scotland's most southerly inhabited island. It is divided by the Highland Boundary Fault, with rugged mountains in the north, and firtile, low-lying land in the south. Most of the island has very noticeable raised beaches. After the last Ice Age, there was a massive release of weight when the ice melted. The land rose, creating raised beaches which provide the perfect platform for the main road which encircles the island.
